Why use Laser or Intense Pulsed Light to remove hair?

  • Permanent results
  • No more shaving
  • Silky smooth skin

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

Permanent hair reduction can be achieved using Laser or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). These techniques minimize the growth and appearance of unwanted facial or body hair. The Laser emits a beam, while IPL releases flashes of broad spectrum light, to heat the root of the hair. The light selectively targets the pigment in the hair, destroying the hair follicle, so hair can no longer grow.

How is Laser Hair Removal administered?

It is important to understand that the skin will not be completely hair-free following one treatment. While most hairs are burned off the skin, those that remain will eventually fall out or are reabsorbed by the body through a natural process over the next several weeks. It takes a series of treatments, usually an average of six to 10, to achieve effective hair removal. Multiple treatments are required because hair grows in cycles. The hair has an active-growing stage alternating with a resting stage. Hair growth can only be affected by light while in its active stage at the time of the treatment. Since many of the hairs at the time of treatment may be in their resting stage, they will not be affected by the Laser or IPL until a future treatment.

What does Fat Transfer treat?

  • Increases volume
    • Buttocks
    • Breasts
    • Face

How does a Fat Transfer work?

Using a patient’s own fat cells from one area to increase volume in another area is called an autologous fat transfer.  Fat transfer is also called fat grafting or fat injection.  The injection of viable fat cells to various areas of the body can increase their volume and augment the treated area, such as the face, breasts, cheeks, lips, buttocks, and chin.  Fat transfer can also help reduce the appearance of acne scars.

How is a Fat Transfer administered?

The patient’s fat cells are obtained by performing a liposculpture of the donor site, such as the tummy, lovehandles, back, or thighs.  Fat cells are then gently harvested and prepared for reinjection into the tissue. This entire procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so patients are awake throughout.

How does Laser Lipo (SmartLipo™) work?

SmartLipo™utilizes a laser beam directly in the skin to target fat cells, blood vessels and collagen. The laser ruptures the fat cell membrane, releasing its oily fat content in a liquid form. This allows for a smoother, more even removal of the fat, compared to traditional liposuction, which often removes chunks and clumps of fat, leaving the skin surface lumpy and uneven. In addition, the laser coagulates the tiny blood vessels in the skin, minimizing the bleeding and trauma that occurs during the procedure. This translates into less bruising, swelling and recovery time. In fact, most people return to their regular activities in one-two days. Once the procedure is completed, patients will experience progressive skin tightening due to the effect of the laser on regenerating collagen in the skin. This skin retraction is a major advantage over traditional and other forms of liposuction.

How is Laser Lipo (SmartLipo™) administered?

The Laser Lipo procedure is an outpatient procedure performed using sterile technique. After the skin over the area to be treated is marked, a small puncture is made in the skin using a tiny needle, through which a local anesthetic solution is administered to numb the area(s) to be treated. Then the laser fiber is introduced through this puncture into the fat layer of the skin, melting the fat directly. Finally, the liquified fat can be aspirated. What does Leg Vein Removal treat?

  • Vericose Veins
  • Spider Veins

How does Leg Vein Removal work?

Sclerotherapy is the standard medical treatment for removing leg veins. A liquid medication is placed directly inside the vein using several tiny injections. The solution causes the walls of the vein to become irritated and stick together. By using a bandage or a fitted leg compression stocking, the vein walls can be squeezed together. A small blood clot will then form inside the vein itself, sealing it off so that blood no longer can flow through it. The closed vein is broken down over several months and reabsorbed by the body through a natural process until it is no longer as visible. These veins are not necessary for proper circulation, thus their absence is not harmful to the body.

How is Leg Vein Removal administered?

More than one treatment is usually necessary. The actual number of treatments needed depends on the type, size and location of the veins to be treated, and how long they have been present.

What does Radiosurgery treat?

  • Moles
  • Skin Tags
  • Warts
  • Facial Veins

How does Radiosurgical Treatment work?

Radiosurgery is an atraumatic method of cutting and coagulating soft tissue, without the post-op pain and tissue destruction of electrocautery or a surgical blade. The cutting effect results from the heat generated by the resistance of the tissues to a radio-frequency wave, which is applied with a fine wire electrode. The heat disintegrates and volatizes the cell in the path of the waves, causing the tissue to split apart as though it had been cut with a razor-sharp knife. The blood vessels in the path become coagulated, which means little or no bleeding occurs with this procedure, and results in healing without scarring.

How is Radiosurgical Treatment administered?

The skin lesions are first numbed with a tiny injection of local anesthesia. A grounding pad is applied to the patient’s body to assure a closed electrical circuit. The appropriate surgical electrode is chosen to eliminate the unwanted skin tags, warts or moles on any part of the skin. A topical antibiotic may be placed on the superficial wound. Results are immediate and permanent.

What does to Radiofrequency treat?

  • Skin Wrinkles
  • Loose or Sagging Skin
  • Lost Skin Contours
  • Sun Damaged Skin

How does to Radiofrequency work for Skin Contouring?

The to Radiofrequency device delivers a controlled amount of radiofrequency energy. With each touch to the skin, the device tip uniformly heats a large volume of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and its underlying tissue, while simultaneously protecting the outer layer of the skin with cooling. This heating action causes deep structures in your skin to immediately tighten. Over time, new and remodeled collagen is produced to further tighten skin—resulting in healthier, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.

How is to Radiofrequency administered for Skin Contouring?

Radiofrequency energy is delivered using a medical device whose technology has been clinically proven to tighten and gently lift the skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew the skin. The incision-free procedure is fast and easy, and requires no downtime from normal activities. Unlike lasers, the procedure can be performed on patients of all skin types, and requires only one treatment session.
